Psychotherapy & Somatic experiencing®

Over the past 11 years, I have developed my own therapeutic style, combining a psychotherapeutic approach with elements of Somatic Experiencing®. My way of working is holistic. This means that I work not only with the mind, but also with emotions and bodily experiences.

I would describe my approach to therapy as “emotional healing”.

Many of us did not have enough space and acceptance as we were growing up to experience the full range of our emotions. During sessions, I create a space where suppressed emotions can be safely felt and fully experienced without becoming overwhelming, allowing them to move through us and eventually be released.

tygrIf you have experienced traumatic events, it is not only emotions that remain, but also “energy” — the activation of the nervous system — that has become trapped within you and is now “causing havoc.” Using Somatic Experiencing® methods, we can deliberately, gradually, and gently approach this energy and allow it to leave your nervous system.

This is one of the fundamental ways in which I work with trauma, particularly in cases involving single traumatic events, such as a car accident, an attack by an animal or another
person, etc. With developmental trauma, I also use Somatic Experiencing®, but I enrich the work with other psychotherapeutic approaches as well.

I am here primarily for those who long for change—for their lives to become happier and more fulfilling. If you feel that this will require quite a lot from you, you are not mistaken.

The more courage and honesty you bring into our work, the faster and more significant your progress will be.

I most often help people who are experiencing the following difficulties:

  • anxiety and panic attacks
  • relationship issues
  • traumatic experiences (processing and integration)
  • developmental trauma
  • psychosomatic symptoms

On any given day, I work therapeutically with a maximum of two people. This allows me to maintain a high standard of therapeutic care. I intentionally leave some space in my schedule, so when needed, I am usually available (at least online) within a few days.

Working together:

First, please book a free 20-minute video call. During this call, you can tell me what brings you to therapy and what you would like to achieve or change with its help. You will also have the opportunity to ask me anything you would like to know about my approach and the way I
work. Together, we will then determine whether I am the right therapist for you. After that,
we will arrange a date for the first session.

The sessions can take place in Prague, Neratovice or online. I usually meet with clients in person for the first three sessions, then continue with a combination of in-person and online work.

It is also possible to arrange therapy outdoors, in the form of a walk, on an individual basis. This can be particularly suitable if you mainly feel the need to open up or tell your life story. Emotional processes tend to be less intense while walking. For some people, this can be a good way to talk about certain things for the first time.

Supervision & Mentoring

Supervision for Psychotherapists

A key prerequisite for effective supervision is an interest in self-reflection.

I enjoy working with members of “my tribe,” as psychotherapists are usually people who are curious about exploring their “inner universe” and deepening their understanding of their own experiences. This self-knowledge serves as an essential compass and a valuable source of insight in our work with clients.

I would describe my approach to supervision as holistic and trauma-informed.

By holistic, I mean that I pay attention not only to thoughts and our understanding of a situation, but also to emotions and bodily experience. A trauma-informed approach recognises that working with people who have experienced trauma places particular demands on us. On the one hand, this naturally means taking a sensitive and careful approach to our clients. On the other hand, it also presents a challenge to our own nervous system, which may be exposed to significant emotional strain and activation through our work. I believe it is very important that supervision also provides space to address and process these experiences.

If you are considering supervision, you can first book a free 20-minute introductory video call.

Individual Supervision

I also offer supervision to other professionals working in healthcare, education, social services, non-profit organisations, and the business sector. It is particularly suitable for
professionals such as:

  • physicians
  • physiotherapists
  • occupational therapists
  • nurses
  • social workers and social care professionals
  • crisis intervention specialists
  • peer consultants
  • teachers
  • educators
  • coaches
  • other professionals

What Is Supervision For

  • Developing professional competencies – gaining a deeper understanding of work-related situations and exploring appropriate changes and solutions.
  • Providing emotional support – processing emotional demands, developing healthy work habits, and preventing burnout.
  • Supporting ethical and responsible practice – reflecting together on ethical dilemmas and finding ways to carry out your work in accordance with professional and ethical principles.

Mentoring

I began moving toward psychotherapy as early as 2007, when I chose to study psychology. I have been working in the field for more than 11 years. I know well the initial uncertainty, the process of finding your own style, developing your skills, going down blind alleys, experiencing burnout, and searching for new and less conventional frameworks.

I have worked in education, social services, the nonprofit sector, healthcare, and business. I have also led a team and founded and run a therapeutic center in Prague, which provides space for more than 10 other professionals.

I would be happy to share what I have learned along the way.

Working Together

If you are interested in working together, book a free 20-minute video call. During the call, we will discuss your expectations, needs, and goals and explore whether I might be able to support you. You will also have an opportunity to ask me any questions. Afterwards, we can arrange the date of our first session.

For individual supervision and mentoring, I offer one in-person meeting in Prague or Neratovice, so that we have an opportunity to get to know each other face to face. After that, we can continue working either online or in person in Neratovice. If you live further away, we can work online from the very beginning.
